The Dream Book
Dream Spells, nighttime potions and rituals, and other magical sleep formulas
by Gillian Kemp

The Dream Book by Gillian Kemp is designed to help bring our dreams alive, tune us into our inner most thoughts and feelings, and awaken the hidden language of the soul. According to the author, "What we 'see' in a dream is the pictorial incarnation of creative thoughts." Dreams are the language of the subconscious, and once we begin to understand our dreams, a doorway is open to our deepest aspirations, wishes, and concerns. This charming little book helps us open that pathway!

Author Gillian Kemp has included a description of the five types of dreams: ordinary dreams, lucid dreams, telepathic dreams, premonitory dreams, and nightmares. We are told that they often blend and merge with one another. As a child, I had a specific dream many times, so the pages that described recurring dreams was fascinating to me! Chapter four teaches how to keep a dream diary, which will protect them from being spirited away, elusive and forgotten. The A-Z dream dictionary will give meaning to some of the objects that are often components of our nighttime visuals. I found the dream magic chapter, which includes fun potions and rituals, an interesting section in this mysterious little book.

In addition to making enjoyable nighttime reading, The Dream Book teaches us to pay attention to our subconscious, broaden our imagination and listen to cues. This little exercise in dream catching allowed me to think as a child again!

Decorated with pressed flowers, old photos, handwritten messages, personal comments, and a ribbon bookmark, this book makes a treasured gift for anyone who is interested in a glimpse of their own subconscious. Sweet dreams!
